Bouncy Bot Privacy Policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
Bouncy Bot is a one-touch game made by Colin Douglas, an independent developer. This page explains what the game keeps, what it sends, and why. It covers the iPhone, Android and web versions.
- No account, no sign-in, and no email address or real name is ever asked for.
- No ads, and no tracking across other apps or websites. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
- The leaderboard knows you only by a random ID the game makes, and a name only if you choose one.
- No analytics: the game doesn't report how you play.
- Purchases go through Apple or Google. The game never sees your payment details.
What stays on your device
Your progress is saved on your device: best scores, bolts, what you've bought and are wearing, missions, stats and settings. It isn't sent anywhere, except as described below. If your device backs up apps (for example to iCloud or Google), that backup can include it, under your device's own settings.
On iPhone and iPad, your progress (not your settings) is also kept in your own iCloud account, through Apple's iCloud key-value storage, so it comes back on a new device or your other devices with the same Apple ID. It's stored by Apple under your Apple ID and iCloud settings; we can't see it. Turning iCloud off for the game in your device's settings stops it.
The leaderboard
The first time the game posts a score, it makes a random player ID and a secret key on your device. When a run beats your best for the day, the game sends the score, how long the run took, your platform (iPhone, Android or web), the build of the game, and what your bot is wearing. The leaderboard server keeps:
- your random player ID, and a one-way hash of its key (so no one else can post as you)
- the name you choose, if you choose one (names are checked against a word filter)
- your best score for each day you play, your best ever, and your bot's look
- your platform, and when you first and last played
- name reports: which name was reported, by which player ID, and when
Other players see your name (or a made-up one like BOT-4K2Q if you haven't chosen one), your scores and your bot's look. A name that three players report is taken down.
Purchases
Packs bought with real money are paid through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms. The game never sees your name, payment card or Apple or Google account.
Purchases are checked and recorded by RevenueCat, a service that works for the game. It receives an anonymous ID made for your install, what was bought, its price, currency and date, the store's transaction ID, your store's country, and basic device and app details (such as the system version and the game's version). That's used to confirm purchases, to restore them on a new device (RESTORE PURCHASES in Settings), and to count sales. It isn't used for advertising.
Who else handles data
- Apple and Google, for downloads, updates and payments, under their own privacy policies (Apple, Google).
- RevenueCat, for purchases, as above.
- Cloudflare runs the leaderboard server. Like any web server it handles your IP address to deliver each request and to block abuse (Cloudflare's policy). The game's server doesn't keep IP addresses.
No one else receives data from the game, and nothing is sold.
Children
Bouncy Bot is made for everyone. It has no ads, and it never asks for contact details, a real name or a photo. A leaderboard name is optional, filtered, and can be reported.
Deleting your data
Everything on your device goes when you delete the game; what's in iCloud you can delete in your device's iCloud settings (Manage Storage). To have your leaderboard entry deleted, contact us with your name on the board.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page will show it, with a new date at the top.
